When you walk into the door of Historic Cold Spring Village Country Store you take a step back in time. "Trees" of baskets, toys and merchandise are nestled into the soaring 20 foot rafters of the store. Scents of woods, sweets & spices greet you upon entering.
Your eye is led down the main aisle to the original fireplace and boat figurehead sailing above, but don't let this be your only path. One of the great charms of the store is exploring the walls of shelves to discover the tucked away treasures. The Country Store is a reflection the Village. The HCSV artisans' wares are for sale only at this location. Craftsmanship honed by an artist's eye guides the potter, book binder, blacksmith, whitesmith, and basket & broom makers. Touch the Village wool yarn and dream of new scarves, sweaters, mittens and hats. If you do not knit or crochet, take home a hand knitted or crocheted item produced by Cape May County crafters. Reproductions of favorite items from the one-room school house, the children's play yard, the Spicer-Leaming household and Dennisville tavern are reproduced and for sale. Let you taste buds be delighted by the old fashioned candy bar or HCSV's own preserves, and local delicacies. The book nook houses a broad library from which to choose. We are open Friday Saturday and Sunday till Christmas from 11 to 4 each day.
